Belmont World Film will screen the film LAST FILM SHOW, as the closing screening at its 20th Family Festival on Saturday, January 21, at 3:30 PM at the Regent Theatre in Arlington. As you may have heard, the film is not only India's submission for the Best International Language Film Oscar, it is also on the short list for a nomination! We are especially pleased to be able to present the film at the festival, which will give audience members to watch the film as a shared experience with others.

If you're not familiar with the film, it's about a 9-year-old boy living with his family in a remote village in India, who discovers films for the first time and is absolutely mesmerized. Against his father's wishes, he returns to the cinema day after day to watch more films, and even befriends the projectionist, who in exchange for his lunch box, lets him watch movies for free. He and his friends eventually make their own film projection equipment—until the day the film cans stop coming. It's in Gujarati with subtitles.
