Press Release 12/22/2022 IAB 2023-2034 Executive Team Indian Americans for Burlington held their annual general body meeting and elections for new Executive Committee for the two calendar year period 2023 - 2024.The general body meeting was held on Saturday Dec 17th In Burlington Public library. President: Deepa Agrawal Deepa Agrawal was elected as the President. Most recently she served as secretary in IAB. Volunteering and giving back to the community are deeply important to Deepa Agrawal. She has been serving as a director, a teacher, and the student volunteer coordinator for Shishu Bharati school from past 8 years. She volunteers actively in Hindi Manch, IAGB and Dharma Center of America. Deepa is an accountant by profession and works for a public accounting firm. Her true love is painting. She held a painting display at the Burlington Public Library. She is looking forward to work passionately with her team at IAB. Smita Kapadia is a Tax Manager for an accounting firm. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with an educational background in accounting and finance. She has volunteered for numerous charity groups in New England over the past ten years, including Sew We Care, New England Gayatri Parivar and the Dharma Center of America. She is excited to join the IAB and support the local Indian community in planning enjoyable cultural events. Atul Bhammar is a resident of Burlington, MA since 1995. Atul is a software engineer and entrepreneur who holds a master's degree in computer science. He enjoys reading, hiking, biking, and tennis. Atul is an enthusiastic volunteer and one of the IAB's founding members. He has contributed significantly during numerous IAB events over the past six years and has a strong enthusiasm for community organization and development. He also happens to be married to Shital Bhammar, the outgoing IAB president. Vaidehi Pathak, a long time Burlington resident, loves to volunteer for her community. Her passion for dance led her to start online Zoom sessions for dance workouts during the pandemic. In addition, she is a yoga practitioner and a student of Vedic literature. By profession, she is a senior IT tech lead working with cloud technology at Verizon. She loves to read, with history fiction being her favorite genre. Amrit Soni is a resident of Burlington for over 30 years and currently works for Teledyne Digital Imaging as Director of Engineering. He is very involved in the Indian community in the Boston area and has served as President of India Association of Greater Boston and President of Ekal New England Chapter. Ms. Shilpa is a Software Engineer by profession and is a Burlington resident for 10+ years. She lives with her husband, a handsome son, a beautiful daughter and a loving dog. She has been a volunteer in local social events and has passion to contribute to the society and make a difference. She wants to strive to bring Indian community into mainstream and be ambassador for this cause. Shilpa is also a good Kathak dancer and has participated in the cultural events organized by IAB.
