Press Release 09/29/2022 Rohan Chander wins the Gaudeamus Award 2022! Rohan Chandra, son of Dr. Ravi Chander and Dr. Parul Shah, is a graduate of Barrington High School, Rhode Island. He did his undergraduate in Music composition from NYU, New York, and graduated as Master in Music composition from USC in California this year. The young composer-performer received prestigious incentive prize for young music pioneers on Sunday 11 September during the final night of Gaudeamus Festival 2022 in TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht, Netherlands. Five composers were nominated for this Award this year including, Bethany Younge, Bekah Simms, Alex Paxton, Baldwin Giang and Chander from a total of 222 submissions from all over the world. Their music was played throughout the festival and each of them wrote a new piece especially for the festival. Chander sailed through the tough competition and won it with flying colors.
