IAGB has been honored with the ‘Community Service Award 2022’ by the Partners in Transportation Diversity Committee at the MBTA/MassDOT and the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) Boston.
For over a decade the Partners in Transportation Diversity Committee has led the efforts of both raising awareness and celebrating cultural diversity within the organization. This year’s national theme is “Advancing Leaders Through Collaborationâ€. IAGB’s notable achievements in leading and promoting collaboration with other organizations was recognized by these organizations and they selected IAGB as a National Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month Community Service Award recipient. A testament to IAGB’s social, cultural, and civic work so far. Many thanks to Jamey Tesler (Secretary of Transportation MASS DOT), April Rai (COMTO CEO), Steve Poftak (General Manager MBTA), Lidy Chan (MASS DOT) for the honor.
Award ceremony was held on May 17, 2022. At the award ceremony we showcased two top-of-the-class cultural performances from our community members - ‘ Kathak’ presented by Mona’s Dance Academy (Mona Kathak) and Bollywood Folk presented by DFD Academy (Devika Dhawan). These performances were loved by the attendees.
