Boston Bhangra and South Asian Nation held a fun Baisakhi Gala on Saturday, April 9 2022 at the Sons of Italy in Watertown, MA. In the true spirit of Baisakhi, the event was filled with great music and dance. Rohit Bambi, the founder of Boston Bhangra served as Emcee for the evening.
“Our goal is to promote the Punjabi culture. We have today a station to learn Dhol, Bhagara and Punjabi†said Bambi who founded Boston Bhangara 20 years ago. The organization teaches Bhangra and hosts Bhangra and Bollywood dance competitions.
The program opened with a presentation by "Boston Bhangra Juniors" with Aayan, Dev, Jai, Rubina, Sinjini, Vrinda and Noor. Radhika D, Radhika K, Danielle, Sneha and Alisha, Rubina, Reena, Alisha, Aneesha and Leela presented Bollywood medleys. The final event in the program was a Bhangra presentation by Boston Bhangra Seniors - Neil, Anand, Shraddha, Pamela, Nora, Sharon, Olivia M, Olivia H, Shivanee and Lisa.
Sponsors for the event included New York Life which raffled off a TV in conjunction with Sling TV.
A great dinner and a fantastic DJ made the evening really fun for the attendees and a memorable one!!
