Chinmaya Mission Boston Announces Leadership Transition
Co-founded by Dr. Gopala Dwarakanath and Dr. Shashi Dwarakanath, Chinmaya Mission Boston (CMB) is serving the community for over three decades.
CMB’s Bala Vihar program has benefited thousands of children. The goal of the Bala Vihar program is to “wake up the sleeping giant†within and inspire them to reach their maximum potential. This is achieved by imparting a value-based education through a specially designed, age appropriate curriculum that has been carefully developed by expert Chinmaya Acharyas.
Through its Satsang offering, charity & service programs, focus on cultural and spiritual celebrations, CMB continues to be a vital part of our community. As president of CMB, Dr. Dwarakanath has provided his wonderful leadership and guidance including expanding into three additional satellite chapters.
Last weekend, Dr. Dwarakanath announced his retirement after 35 years of seva. He and the board of directors have entrusted Ajita Bhat to be the new president, with Sudhir Srinivasan as the vice president. Both Ajita and Sudhir have been associated with CMB for many years, and they bring a lot of experience and insight into their new roles. Dr. Dwarakanath will continue to serve the Center as President Emeritus.
Dr. Shashi Dwarakanath, who has been the driving force behind the Bala Vihar program and all spiritual initiatives over the decades, will continue to serve as the Center’s spiritual guide.
The Board of Directors and all the Chinmaya Sevaks thank Dr. Dwarakanath for his unparalleled service and contribution to the Center, and look forward to his continued guidance. Also, wishing Ajita and Sudhir all the very best in their new roles.
