Over 400 people attended TIECON East that was held at the Westin Hotel in Waltham, MA on Oct 1, 2021.  Featuring over 50 speakers, the event was great place for entrepreneurs to hear experts in various fields and to network. Major sponsors of the conference included Amazon, Microsoft, Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Arent Fox, Converge, Sittercity, Innospark, Thread Research, Progress and Embark. The conference was co-chaired by Kiran Uppuluri and Sanjay Jain. Anu Chitrapu, the President of TIE Boston who worked tirelessly to pull of this live event, was very happy to see the outcomes of the conference. 

From inspiring keynotes by Rohit Prasad, Senior Vice President and Head Scientist at Amazon Alexa, and Ms. Shetty, Co-founder of Ginkgo Bioworks to the fabulous panels that delved deep into a variety of topics, the event succeeded in really engaging the audience. 

Two award presentations was made. The President’s choice award was given to Nikhil Bhojwani and the Lifetime Achievement award was presented to Purnanand Sarma. A fireside chat with Sarma was hosted by Amar Sawhney where Sarma described his entrepreneurial journey. 

The event ended on a beautiful note with the winners from the TIE Women’s pitch competition sharing their pitch with the audience. Amrita Saigal, CEO Kudos, Alicia Tulsee of Moxie Apparel, Bryanne Leeming, CEO Unrulysplats and Shriya Srinivasan of project Prajna presented their projects. 

The event was very well received by the audience who were glad to be attending an in-person Tie Event after a hiatus of 2 years.
