Press Release 09/23/2021 First Regional New England Folk Literature and Oral Poetry Festival Supported by Massachusetts Cultural Council and Cambridge Art Council, India Discovery Center is pleased to announce the First Regional New England Folk Literature and Oral Poetry Festival on Saturday, September 25 through at 10 AM through a virtual gathering hosted on Zoom. English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Hungarian, Cambodia, Sanskrit, Kashmiri, Rajasthani, Bengali, Kannada and Tamil languages will be represented through a world tour in voices. The following story will be recited: We set sail from Boston Harbor, meet a young maiden at the beach in Brazil, travel to meet a fisherman in sea in India, reach Germany in Autumn, hear the story of the raven and the fox in France, sing Dante in Italy, meet a wanderer in Hungary, sing a song for the wanderer in Bangladesh, go to the mountains in Kashmir to find love, hear a sage in Rajasthan sing the falsity of longing, travel through Narmada river in India, meet a woman stuck in tradition in Karnataka, pray for the mother no more in Cambodia, escape in search of a better life in Mexico and meet the Man of the Time back in Italy!
