When women come together to help community, incredible things happen! During Christmas Holidays, a group of women joined hands together to donate toys and other gift items to 20 families within 2 days! Shova Sharma, a Board Member of Project Just Because, led this group of incredible women.
During Pandemic many families have lost their jobs and have been grappling with financial crisis. Some of them have even been struggling with supply of basic essentials. And the thought of providing Christmas gifts to their children have put a lot of pressure on them. Their heart broke every time they thought of their inability to make their children happy.
This group of fantastic women came together to extend their support through Project Just Because. They made a wish list of each family. It was totally the discretion of these women to sponsor one or more families and they were swift to order these gifts directly to the recipient families. Before Christmas, every family received their desired gift and were overjoyed with the act of kindness.
Taking care of their families has always been a priority for these women, but serving others especially during Covid pandemic deserves acknowledgement. Besides balancing their work and families, these women have shown that if you have a will to serve others, then through collective effort you can have positive and deeper impact.
These women are shining examples of women empowering each other through collective volunteerism. Those on the receiving end benefit from the help and those engaged in volunteering benefit from the feel-good factor of knowing that their help brought smile on someone’s face.
Project Just Because extends heartfelt appreciation to this group of splendid women: Patima Penumarthy, Nisha Dave, Sumana Hatwar, Vinita Pandey, Poornima Rao, Madhuri Waje, Kala Venkatesh, Divya Ramnarayan, Shova Khanal Sharma, Kamal Shrestha, Jainy Shah, Sudha Acharya, Nisha Sinha.
