Shaam-E-Ghazal with Kiran Nath was held on  Dec 18, 2020 where two Album Singles were released. The album release was done by Randhir Jaiswal, the Consul General of India. The evening featured dance, music and poetry by several artists in the Boston area. 

The event was coordinated by Parveen Minocha and Sanjay Kaul. After a poetic welcome by Parveen Minocha, the EMCEE, Syed Ali Rizvi introduced Kiran Nath ji. Kiran Nath ji  followed this introduction with two songs, Bahaar Aayee by Faiz Ahmed Faiz and Ye Bahaar Ka Zamaana with lyrics by Atta Ullah Khan. 

Following a lovely poem describing the current pandemic Sanjay Kaul proceeded to welcome the chief guest for the evening Randhir Jaiswal, Consul General of India, New York. Following a beautiful speech in Hindi, the consul general then released the two singles.  The first one was a Ghazal, Phir Aankh Jami Hai Raste Par , a Kiran Nath composition that was sung by her daughter Mitali Wahidi followed by a traditional Thumri,Chhaa Rahi Kali Ghataa sung by Kiran Nath. Ranjani Saigal danced to this Thumri in Bharatanatyam style. Her rendition focused on Abhinaya brought out the Shringara aspect of the Thumri. Following the dance, Kiran Nath ji presented her composition, Kaise Keh Dun. 

Pradeep Shukla, founder of Learnquest presented another Kiran Nath composition Phir Phool Khila Barsaat Aayee. His beautiful voice and masterful rendition of the piece was a treat to the audience.

Harish Dang  then proceeded to recite Ek Lamha Sahi, a poem by Kiran Nath.  Revathy Ramakrishna presented Bhulana Sehel Ho Jiska in a very melodious manner.  Kunal Nath, who has become a rising star in Shaam-E-Ghazal presentations rendered his mother’s composition Zara Thhehro To Jao Na Abhi beautifully.

Pooja Tiwari had a sparkling dance presentation set to the popular Faiyaz Hashmi number sung by Kiran Nath ji - Aaj Jaane Ke Zid Na Karo. A Thumri Mora Saiyyan Mohse Bole Naa and Ai Mohabbat Tere Anjaam Pe by Kiran Nath ji brought the evening to a close. 

The prolific work and talent of Kiran Nath’s poetry and music was on full display. The multimodal rendition of the work through poetry recital, music and dance made for a delightful evening. The audience was grateful to Kiran Nath for bringing such joy on cold snowy evenings to the homes of music lovers. We look forward to the next release soon !
