Love was surely in the air…. as Dhadkan regaled audiences far and wide last Saturday! A Live Virtual concert in collaboration with Niche Entertainment of Pune, India, hosted by the New England and New York chapters of Ekal Vidyalaya, was live streamed to promote integrated & holistic development of rural & tribal India and Nepal.
“Dhadkan - Love is in the Air,†highlighted the “Evolution of Romance through the decades in Bollywood.†Milind Oak, the creative and conceptual director of Niche Entertainment, took the viewers through an interesting journey of the various facets of romance in Indian cinema, interspersed with memorable romantic melodies, both old and new! From Justajoo or search for a heartthrob, to roobaroo or meeting, to ikrar or consent, to judai or separation, the various nuances of love, and the path that it undertakes was melodiously portrayed through a selection of 40+ songs, each highly appreciated by the audience! The event was live streamed from Pancham studios in Pune, and was presented by 4 vocalists, along with an orchestra, and Milind ji as the emcee or sutradhar.
The 3 hour concert included videos of several Ekal initiatives, like the Ekal youth leaders, IndiArt, and pitches by donors and supporters. The event was a grand success and generated close to $400,000 in donations and pledges mainly from New England and New York states.
