AIF announced the appointment of distinguished biopharmaceutical and healthcare leader Dr. Brian J. G. Pereira, MD to the Board. "We are privileged to have such a distinct member of the health community join us on our Board in these uncertain times when we are trying our best to help vulnerable communities affected by the COVID-19 health crisis" saidVenkat Srinivasan, Vice Chair, AIF and Chair, Finance Committee. “A celebrated expert clinician and successful entrepreneur, Brian adds considerable strength and a new dimension to the Board which will serve AIF very well in the coming years. Brian and Sunita, herself a neonatal physician, are passionate philanthropists committed to AIF’s secular values and helping the underserved everywhere, especially in India.â€
On his appointment, Brian stated, "AIF is unique in being secular and its mission is to step up and provide assistance where it is needed the most. As a result, AIF deploys its human and financial capital across a spectrum of unmet needs among those who need it the most - women and children, migrant workers, differently-abled individuals and marginalized members of Indian society."
Brian received his medical degree (MBBS) from St. John’s Medical College, MD (Medicine) and DM (Nephrology) from the Post Graduate Institute and MBA from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and has authored over 200 published scientific articles.
