"It will be an exciting mix of programs for the Ugadi celebrations on May 8th,” says Ranjan Vadlapatla, President, TAGB. “We are honoring Sai Rani Ravi for her contributions to the community and have a cultural show as usual. Everyone is of course, waiting to meet Aarti Agarwal, the Tollywood sensation. So I urge one and all to come and not miss this exciting event.”

Aarti Agarwal who has shot to popularity with films like Nuvvu Naku Nachav, Nuvvu LekaNenu Lenu, Indra, Bobby and Nee Sneham is a New Jersey native and a much sought after heroine in the Telugu Film Industry. Although she is a Gujarathi, she likes acting in Telugu. In a recent interview she is quoted as saying “I enjoy working in Telugu films. It’s a great place and I feel I am in the right place. Here, in the Telugu industry people work much faster. It’s like after the pack up of the shooting, you still have time for yourself. I am used to it now.” She has been interested in acting since her childhood and has specialized in Jazz, Bharatanatyam and Kathak.

Sai Rani Ravi, daughter of Hanumara Satyanarayana and H.V. Narasamamba will be honored with a community achievement award for her tremendous contributions to the community. A champion athlete in Andhra Pradesh before she came to Boston in 1980, she has carried her outstanding achievements to various areas and has been a active volunteer for various political, social, cultural and spiritual events in New England. She has also been involved in medical organizations like AAPI and IMANE and has been the past President and advisor of TAGB for many years.

TaaraNa Naama Samvatsara Ugadi Utsavalu will have a mix of Film songs, Kids fancy dress, Solo and group folk dances,Instrumental music, Classical dances, Solo and group songs and Drama/Skit. The Program will begin at 2 pm at the Cyril D. Locke Middle School in Billerica.
