The actress is juggling between multiple projects and in an interview with a leading daily, the actress opened up on prepping for her movie with Shakun Batra. Spilling some more beans about the film, Ananya shares, "We started doing readings for his film a month ago. Prep is top priority for Shakun and that is one of my favourite things about him. I also love the way he handles relationships on screen; he makes it look so believable, working with Gully Boy's MC Sher is `fun` and describes her onscreen equation with Deepika as `interesting`. `She is a huge star but one of the most normal people I have met. I have known Siddhant before we signed the film and I am excited to see him in a completely different character. We start shooting in Mumbai.'

As a young and aspiring actor from the National School of Drama, Pankaj Tripathi's biggest inspiration, was Irrfan. By his own admission, Tripathi's very reason on why he began his journey as an actor was the influence that watching Irrfan as an actor had on him. Pankaj has longed to share screen space with Irrfan and jumped when the opportunity presented itself with Angrezi Medium. His cameo in Angrezi Medium is a true dedication of his sheer admiration for the actor. Tripathi shares, `I've always been inspired by Irrfan's performances as an actor. He has had a huge impact on my life, especially with his performances from Haasil, Maqbool, The Warrior and Pan Singh Tomar. My guru and also my senior from the National School of Drama, I have always wanted to impact audiences the way he does. His contribution has been greatly acknowledged in the Indian Cinema and my role in this film is almost like my 'guru dakshina' to him. He further adds, `I don't think there is anybody who wouldn't look up to him. I always wanted to share the frame with him and being a hard-core follower of Irrfan, I have learnt so much from just watching him perform.`

Soon after mid-day broke the news that Ali Abbas Zafar will helm the reboot of Mr India (1987), there was a backlash from the makers of the original. Anil Kapoor's daughter Sonam K Ahuja even criticised the "underhanded" manner in which the remake was conceived of without the knowledge of the original film's leading man. Director Shekhar Kapur has now joined the chorus. It is understandable that Kapur, the director of Bollywood's first sci-fi outing, is mighty displeased about the turn of events. When mid-day reached out to him, he said, "Where is the director's ownership on the material he has created? It [the reboot] is based on what I have created. Now, I am in touch with lawyers all over the world to [tackle] the issue. It's about creating a new understanding of creative authorship of the principal director of a film. [The model] is [followed] in many nations of the world, including Australia, and the US. As the director, I am the prime author of the movie. I must have rights to the future remake of the film created by me. This calls for a change in the constitutional copyright laws. This is not about Mr India anymore."
