The Indian Association of Greater Boston hosted the annual Republic Day Celebrations at the Burlington High School in Burlington, MA on Jan 25 2020. With over 600 participants and 4000 attendees, it was the largest Republic Day celebration event.
“IAGB is a platform to connect all Indian Americans and all organizations in the community. We have had extensive conversations with regional organizations to learn how they would like to work with IAGB. We were really delighted to hear all their comments and were delighted to have them participate in the large numbers in the Republic Day event†said Sanjay Gowda, who is the President of IAGB.
The day long event included several competitions for children. This year a new event, Shark Tank was introduced by Thomas Arul which was a huge success.
The Hon Consul General of India, Mr. Sandeep Chakravorty was the chief guest at the event. “He had a very tight schedule and yet he was kind enough to come . The interaction community leaders and discussions with many state senators and state representatives from across the New England area, stressed the importance of civic engagement†said Gowda.
Kerala Association of New England(KANE) and India Society of Worcester (ISW) were recognized for serving our community for over 50 years.
IAGB has planned an array of events, including Visa Camp, Local Governance workshop, IAGB Run/Walk supporting a local cause, SeniorFest and of course, India Day 2020. For more information on these events, visit IAGB website at
