Boston Honors And Hosts Hon. Ambassador Harsh V. Shringla

A special meeting of the New England business people who wanted to extend their trade relations with India and learn more about India’s situation from the Indian Hon. Ambassador Harsh Vardhan Shringla was organized by a Mr. James T. Brett, President and CEO of The New England Council and Ms. Becca Gould, Senior Vice President, Public Affairs from the American Tower Corporation in the evening of Friday, 06 December, 2019, from 6:00PM to 7:30PM. In the meeting, invited business people through their face to face dialogues with the Indian Ambassador obtained answers to all their questions about new business and investment opportunities, trade rules and regulations in India. Hon. Ambassador answered all the questions and concerns very eloquently and made them aware of the current situations and ease to do business and investments policies in India. More than 50 people attended meeting with great enthusiasm.

Followed by this event, a grand dinner reception was arranged to welcome and honor our youngest Ambassador to United States and especially his visit to the New England region by the India Association of Greater Boston (IAGB) at the Ball room of the Curry Student Center, Northeastern University, Boston, MA.  IAGB president Mr. Sanjay Gowda and Prof Raj Echambadi, Dunton Family, Dean of the D’Amore-McKim School of Business, Northeastern University welcomed with much enthusiasm Hon. Ambassador Harsh Vardhan Shringla, Hon. Consul General Sandeep Chakravorty from NY, Mr. Kanchan Banerjee, Director, Boston Center of Excellence for Health and Human Development. Mr. K. V. Kumar, President and CEO of Indian American International Chamber of Commerce to the stage. IAGB Directors, Mr. Prag Singh and Mr. Sanjay Kudrimoti introduced more than 20 Indian Regional Community Organizations and other special community leaders one by one to the Ambassador and Consul General with their roles in the community and focus of activities. More than 150 community leaders attend the program with great keenness to meet and greet the Ambassador in person.

Mr. Kanchan Banerjee introduced Hon. Ambassador and Hon. Consul General of India, New York to the audiences with their brief bio and great achievements in their shining career. Prof. Ravi Ramamurthi, Northeastern University Distinguished professor of International Business & Strategy and Director of Center for Emerging Markets presented his remarks about this special event and how much the New England resident are excited to meet him in person. After Mr. KV Kumar’s remarks, Hon. Ambassador Shringla addressed all audiences by highlighting present state of India and mentioned about various programs, policies, recent achievements that are helping India to move towards its bright future. He also said that in spite of some current burning challenges, many programs in India are focusing on making common people including women, children and elderly and farmers’ lives better. Ms. Vaishali Gade, Vice President of IAGB gave vote of thanks to all the audiences for their active participation, supporting organizations for joining their hands in organizing this special grand event. She thanked Northeastern University for proving them a great venue and supporting the event. She also appreciated the services and time given by the volunteers.

A sumptuous dinner was served to all the invitees by the Godavari Restaurant of Framingham. This program was organized with the support of Boston Center of Excellence, Northeastern University Center for Emerging Markets, Indian American Chamber of Commerce, Milan Cultural Association, and the Global Indians for Bharat Vikas and made it a grand success.
