Press Release 11/20/2019
Ghazal Fans Club presented ‘Shaam-E-Ghazal with Kiran Nath
2019 ‘ on October 19th at Chinmaya Auditorium in Andover, MA. It was
an evening of Ghazals and Thumris. All the ghazal
singers were exceptional in performing the melodies set for them. Nath has the
art of creating compositions which are warm and touching. Mitali sang ‘Kuchh
Bhi Nahin Badla Yahan Kyoon Tum Badal Gaye’ in her beautiful voice, deep and
restrained. Shameek Nath’s ‘Chaahat Se Badhkar Tumhein Chaahein’ sung in his
unusually high ranged voice was very good. Pradeep Shukla’s powerful rendering of ‘Phir Se Diya Jalaao’
was very well received. Rajiv Gangurde sang ‘Nadaan Hum Aise Na Thhe’, with just the
right emotion. Then came the youngest of Naths, Kunal Nath who sang ’Na Tum
Aaye Na Neend Aayee’, and ‘Deewana Kareingi Tumhari Yeh Batein’. His singing
was superb with every word soulful. This ghazal singer sings from heart. His
rendering of Kaifi Azmi’s ‘Koi Yeh Kaise Bataaye Ke Woh Tanha Kyon Hai’ (originally
sung by Jagjit Singh) enthralled the audience. The singer-composer-poet Kiran Nath soulfully sang her own
lyrics and lyrics of legendary poets Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Ahmed Faraaz, Hafeez Hoshiarpuri,
Sagar Nizaami, Shakeel Badayuni and Mirza Ghalib. The concert was opened by Puran Dang and emceed by Jaya
Pandey. Harish Dang and Sadia Chaghtai recited from Kiran’s poetry collection. The
accompanying musicians included Chris Pereji on Keyboards, Harshal Tole on
