Indian community including many Odia families from Boston USA along with Synergyvents Entertainment company had organized the Smt. Susmita Das Live in Concert on Oct 12th, 2019 at the Christalight auditorium. Smt. Susmita Das kicked-off her USA tour with a scintillating inaugural performance at Boston. Her show was very well received with standing ovations from the audience. During this USA tour, she has a string of shows scheduled covering many major cities across America by her sponsor Mr. Santosh Jena. Musicians (Keyboard, Octopad, Tabla and Guitar) accompanying Smt. Susmita Das on stage were invited from Mumbai to play at the live concert.
The musical evening started with a Tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th Anniversary. In this segment Odissi Guru Smt Jayashree Mahapatra beautifully performed mesmerizing dance to the divine soulful tune of Vaishnava Janato sung on stage by Smt. Susmita Das followed by Sarvesam no Janani Bharat song describing incredible india (Bharat). The repertoire of Smt. Susmita Das covered a wide range of most popular feet tapping, music of the golden era of 1960s and 1970s after which audiences applauded her with standing ovations.
Dr Bijoy Mishra, Professor from Harvard University along with founders of Synergyvents Sanjeeb Swain and Prabhudatta Mohanty joined with Leena Mahapatra, Akshaya Mohanty, Dr. Budhinath Padhi, Satyabrata Mishra and Aparajitta Swain felicitated Smt. Susmita Das for her exemplary performance and dedication in the field of music. There was mouth-watering Indian food available during the interval. Another beautiful Dance performance “Madhurastakam†enacting the theme of Radha and Krishna “Rasaleela†was beautifully choreographed by Guru Jayashree Mahapatra and was performed by her disciples Mukta and Subhangi.
Second half of the show continued with many popular Odia numbers followed by selected hit songs from the Bollywood Golden era in which the audience danced to the melodious voice of Smt. Susmita Das. She also sang one of her favourite “Parvana†album song that was just released by Smt. Susmita Das on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra.
The popular Odia song “Ama Rossogola†was the grand finale of the evening and the audience jubilantly danced and enjoyed the performance. With a popular chorus the audience have demanded Smt. Susmita Das to come back once again and perform a grand musical night in Boston, USA soon.
