The Rajput Association of North America (RANA) was
established in 1980. I has grown from six founding families to 700 families and
having chapter in numerous states of USA. RANA's prime objectives are: To foster and maintain
relations among Rajputs in North America; to provide a common platform for the
present and future generations of Rajputs in North America and to behold and
preserve the Rajput culture, traditions, and values; to develop social,
cultural, educational, business, and charity programs and to encourage active
participation of all members in these programs; to establish and develop links
with other Rajput organizations throughout the world; to do all that is needed
to preserve and protect the best interests of its members in accomplishing the
above objectives. In addition, the local Chapters organize various events and
activities. RANA Boston initiated a tradition to recognize the
talent in the field of sports with introduction of RISE Award (RANA
International Sports Excellence) and our first winner is Riya Singh daughter of
Shri Sanjeev Singh Ji and Mrs. Jaya Singh. Riya is ranked No 1 in New England
for Tennis and RANA Boston is proud of her. RISE award was presented by Shri
Subu Kota along with Shri Maikeet Singh (founding member of Gurudwara in
Westborough, MA), Sivendra Singh, and Rakesh Singh. She is setting an
excellence precedence for young generations. RANA is looking forward for
sponsoring/supporting more cultural programs in and around Boston area in
future. Riya Singh said that she like playing tennis and
would like to continue her passion and excel in her studies and sports even
though it is very challenging for her and her family to balance the both. Her
parents are proud of her and encourage her and her little sister as well to
play tennis. You may also access this article through our web-site http://www.lokvani.com/ |
