Overseas Friends of BJP (OFBJP), Boston-New England chapter
gathered at NARA Park, Acton, MA, on Saturday, September 14th 2019 to pay
homage to the departed BJP leader, Shri Arun Jaitley Ji whose name became a
very well-known household name within and outside BJP party. Shri Arun Ji started his career as a young ABVP (Akhil
Bharatiya Vidyarti Parishat) student leader in Delhi University and rose to
being one of the most prominent ministers in both Shri Atal Bihari as well as
Shri Narendra Modi governments. He has served as the minister in a wide array
of ministries ranging from Finance, Defense, Corporate affairs to Information
and Broadcasting. No doubt, his demise at this age and time will leave a big void
in the party and BJP members from across the world mourn for his loss. OFBJP
members gathered at NARA Park to remember his deeds and pay their respects.
Abhishek Singh and Supreeth Subbaraya started the program by presenting a small
eulogy to Shri. Jaitley Ji and this was followed by offering of flowers to the
image of Shri Jaitley Ji by all the fellow members and dignitaries of the event
namely, Shri Subu Kota Ji, Kiran Nath Ji, Ashok Kumar Sharma, Anil Chawla Ji,
Anit Gupta Ji, Rajesh Bhutani Ji who graced the occasion and addressed the
gathering by saying a few kind words about Shri Arun Ji and his immense
contribution to the country. The OFBJP group is striving to strengthen ties between BJP
members of India and the United States along with other significant objectives.
Boston has been recognized as an OFBJP’s new chapter recently. Mr. Abhishek
Singh, the coordinator of the chapter along with a large number of members
leads chapter’s several events and
activities in the New England region. Despite the fact that the occasion itself was morose,
everyone gathered seemed to gain strength from the fact that BJP party has been
a platform for such prodigious leaders who have left their mark behind and the
party will continue to hone and shape the youngsters from the present and the next
generation into remarkable leaders. The event was attended by OFBJP members Subash Agarwal,
Deepak Rathod, Deepak Sharma, Gaurav Dixit, Ashwani Virmani, Geetanjali
Virmani, Jyoti Singh, Ranjani Rajagopalan, Vishant Mahajan, Mrinal Tayal, Shova
Sharma, Kiran Nath, Anit Gupta, Navneet Sharma, Gopika Narula, Amol Penshanwar,
Piyusha Penshanwar, Madur Sharma, Seema Kapoor, Shova Sharma, Barkha Sharma,
Saurabh Ji, Praveen Paka, Pinole Ji, Rahul Amte, KuladeepJi, Neha beniwal,
