New England Sri Raghavendra Swamy Brundavana celebrates 348th Sri Raghavendra Swamy Aradhana Mahotsava

With the blessings of the almighty, New England Sri Raghavendra Swamy Brundavana (NESRSB) has successfully celebrated 348th Sri Raghavendra Swamy Aradhana Mahotsava as a three day event on August 16th (Poorva Aradhana), 17th (Madhya Aradhana) & Uttara Aradhana 18th 2019.

The three day blissful event was attended by over one thousand devotees from all over Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, many other Midwestern, West Coast States and Canada. In four short years, NESRSB has established Boston Metropolitan area as the hub for Guru Raghavendra’s devotees to gather throughout the year.

Elaborate pujas were performed following tantra sarokta padhati throughout the day. Suktas and Stotras from Vedas and Upanishads were recited during the Panchamrita Abhisheka to Sacred Saligrama, Rama Parivara, Prahlada Rajaru, Guru Raghavendra Swamy & his Brundavana followed by Alankara, Kanakabhisekha, Guru Paada Pooja, Mahaa Mangalahaarati, Hastodaka, Alankara Pankti and Teertha Prasada.

Hundreds of devotees participated in Guru’s Paada Pooja, Kanaka Mahabhisekha, Pallaki Seva, Akhanda Raghavendra Swamy Stotra Parayana, Ashtavadhana and Alankara Brahmana Seva. Students of “Gnana Kalpavriksha (classes offered at NESRSB)” & volunteers from “Hari Smarane Bhajana Group” offered their seva through stotra recitation and singing melodies authored by Sri Purandara Dasa. Renowned artists and students from Boston Metropolitan area had come to offer Gaana (Praising the Lord & Guru in the form of songs) Seva, and Nrutya (through classical Indian dance forms) Seva.

Alankara Brahmana Seva was conducted by inviting five brahmins, each of them invoking a form of Narayana (Vishnu). Guruguna Stavana, a composition to praise the guru parapmpara was recited before and during Alankara Pankti seva. Alankara Brahmana were offered a traditional meal in a set of banana leaves, decorated around with classical Rangoli, and many forms of “Daana”.

Throughout the morning, NESRSB Pooja & Suktadhama teams recited several stotras composed by Sri Raghavendra Swamy, including Pratah Sankalpa Gadya, Sri Rama Charitrya Manjari, Krishna Chartitrya Manjari, Vedas & Upanishads.

Over 800+ Raghavendra Swamy devotees patiently waited for Teertha Prasada. The devotees were treated with a classic south Indian meal on a traditional banana leaf served by brahmins in madi (a Raghavendra Swamy Mutt tradition) to everyone’s satisfaction.

The event was blessed by HHS Sri Sri Sri (108) Subhadendra Tirtharu, Pontiff of Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt, Mantralayam had sent Mantrakshite & Parimala Prasada to the devotees in United States & Canada, was duly distributed to all attendees and sponsors from across the country.

Evening events included Nrutya Seva by many artists and was concluded by offering Mangala Haarati and Unjal Seva. Seva participating devotees were facilitated and honored with NESRSB Shalayas.

The event was a spectacle and was made possible with the dedicated voluntary efforts by a strong 120 member NESRSB volunteer group. NESRSB takes this opportunity to thank everyone for their efforts and every devotee who had participated in this blissful event to celebrate 348th Sri Raghavendra Swamy Aradhana.
