Press Release 08/01/2019 Inner Space Meditation Center in Harvard Square hosted “Living without Regretâ€, a unique talk, meditation, and Q&A session at Harvard Law School. They welcomed special guest speaker Charlie Hogg who serves as the National Coordinator of the Brahma Kumaris in Australia and an audience of 145. Charlie began by telling of his own personal story of transformation and his fascination with the workings of the human mind. After traveling the world at age 20 and exploring many different faiths and traditions, he landed in London at the Brahma Kumaris where his inner journey took off. He has been practicing Raja Yoga meditation for 44 years. Charlie takes a spiritual approach to dealing with and learning from regret. He called regret an “amazing educatorâ€, as it can guide you to perform different actions in the future. Three types of regret are most common – regret of action, regret of inaction, and the regret of not living a life in line with the authentic self. The regret of inaction seems to be the most reported. Recorded in our memory track are so many experiences which have had a regretful effect on the quality of our minds. Charlie notes that these regrets cause us to lose self-esteem. Our most important relationship, the one with our selves, suffers. Through meditation, particularly through a deep connection and relationship between the permanent self (soul) and Supreme Soul, we can begin to rebuild self-respect. It’s like a spiritual law that the stronger my self-respect the less I will regret. Throughout the talk Charlie related many wonderful examples and stories to help us understand and transform the unfinished business and unresolved stories that dampen our quality of life. He also took the audience through two powerful meditations to help us look into the mind, to connect to our permanent selves, and to remember a Source that is unlimited in peace and love and power.
