Shree HariDham Temple of Norwood, MA, organized
two-days long Shri Ram Navami Mahotsav from 7:00am of Saturday, April 13 to
1:00pm of Sunday, April 14, 2019 with hundreds of devotees. This Ram Navami festival is a part of the Chaitra (spring) Navratri, and
falls on the ninth day of the bright half (Shukla Paksha) in the Hindu calendar
month of Chaitra. During these nine days, Goddess Shakti was worshipped with
utmost devotion for strength and power and her blessings so that they could
fight against wrong things in life without compromising their morale. On Saturday, at 7:00am, the temple
priests, Pt. Vyas Ji and Pt. Jayanarayan Ji performed the Shobhayatra of Shri
Ramcharit Pustak and Sthapana with all the Vedic rituals. After all the puja
rituals, they started the 24-hour continuous path of Ramayana along with their
regular afternoon and evening Arati and Prasadam. Devotees also participated
with much spiritual fervor in the reading of Ramayana. On Sunday, at 8:00am, the Akhanda
Ramayan Path Samapan (ending) was performed with all the Vedic ceremonies along
with Arati and chanting of "Jai Shri Ram". After this, both
Pt. Vyas Ji and Pt. Jayanarayan Ji performed Bhagwan Shri Ram Abhishekam by
following all the Vedic formalities and chanting of Vedic Mantras, Maha Mantras
and Arati in the midst of sounds of bells and conch. This created a very a holy
and religious atmosphere in the temple. At noon, when the beautiful dressed
Bala (baby) Ram appeared, devotees expressed their joy by chanting ‘Jai Ram Shri
Ram, Jai Jai Ram’ slogans in chorus. From 12:30pm to 1:00pm, ‘Kanya
Pujan’ was performed as the last part of the
Chaitra Navaratri’s Ma Durga Puja Samapan by worshipping nine girls of 3
to 9 years of age were worshipped by many
devotees. It believed that the young girls represent the nine forms of
Goddess Durga. Devotees offered Kumkum and gifts to these girls and sought
their blessings. After this, very sumptuous Prasadam was served to all the
devotees. Mr. Umesh Bais, Mrs. Sampoorna
Bais and their children Siya and Ishaan Bais sponsored the Prasadam of this
great event. Temple management team thanked all the devotees,
sponsors, volunteers for their active participation, support. and dedicated
services to the temple and the community. Temple priests blessed all the
