Geetha Patil 04/17/2019 The ISKCON Boston Temple organized a jubilant public program on the evening of 14Apr2019 with hundreds of devotees to celebrate the occasion of Lord Rama's birthday, Shree Ram Navami, which is a Hindu spring festival, observed on the ninth and last day of Chaitra Navratri. The event was attended by devotees and children who came dressed in the traditional costumes. from the different areas of New England region. On the morning of Apr 13, 2019, the temple priests performed the Abhishekam, and special Puja of Lord Ram Lalla and celebrated the incarnation of the Supreme Lord who appeared as Lord Ram on this earth several millennia ago with the devotees. The ceremony was accompanied by Rama Katha recitals, bhajans, kirtans (a religious song). A lot of devotees also observed fast on this auspicious day. On the morning of Apr 14, 2019, the Sunday school children, namely Gopal, Mishtee, Ethereal, Radhapriya, Radha, Narayan, Nimai, Krishnapriya, Soham actively participated in the drawing and painting of images of Lord Ram. Their images were proudly displayed on the altar of the temple to showcase their creativity and imagination. The evening public celebrations started with singing of melodious Bhajans by the devotees and recitation of Ramayana stories. Temple priests, Shri. Antaryami Prabhu and Smt. Dakshin Mataji after the Arati of Lord Ram Lalla Ji and all other deities of the temple, let all the devotees to offer the flowers to baby Lord Ram Lalla Ji as their Pushpanjali service. It was a joyous occasion, as Lord Rama is very dear to all devotees especially the Vaishnava devotees. Lord Rama demonstrated high moral values and acted as the perfect son, student, brother, husband and King. His life and extraordinary adventures as depicted in the famous epic The Ramayana are the inspirational lessons for all of us to face the challenges in life without compromising our honesty, philosophy, and principles in life. Temple president, Shri. Vanamali Prabhu Ji, made the announcement of exciting upcoming events. He welcomed warmly and presented a brief introduction of Shri. Vatsala Prabhu Ji’s commendable work in Russia and praised his incredible commend on teaching Bhagavad-Gita and singing Sankirtans. He thanked Shri. Laxmi Narayan Prabhu and Lisa Rangoonanan for sponsoring the event and Smt. Jaya Sacimata, Sacipriya and Sacimata for cooking the delightful Prasadam for this special event. Lastly, he praised with his much love and thanked all the volunteers for their dedicated services to the temple.
