It is said that a devotee who
performs sincere worship of Lord Shiva on the auspicious day of Shivratri is
absolved of sins and attains moksha. The great night becomes even more fortunate
when it falls on a Monday which is considered auspicious for Lord Shiva. New England Shirdi Sai Temple (NESSP) celebrated its first
Maha Shivratri
in the new temple on March 4th, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 1:00 AM. On this auspicious
occasion of Maha Shivratri, Mahanyasa Poorvaka Rudrabhishekam, Samuhika
Rudrabhishekam, Maha Lingarchana were performed under the guidance of the
temple Priest and 11 Ritwiks. Maha Lingarchana is a worship of Lord Shiva, while
performing puja to 365 Mruthika Linga (Putta mannu linga). Shiva Shakti is invoked
into each Shiva Lingam through vedic mantras during Shodasa Aavarana puja and
worshiped with great devotion followed by Abhishekam to seek the blessings of
Lord Shiva for health, wealth, prosperity, bliss and ultimate mukthi. The specialty of this year’s shivratri celebrations
is, Samuhika Rudrabhishekam was performed for the first time in the temple
where 200 devotee families participated. The families were given all the pooja
materials including the Murthika linga that were prepared by the volunteers for
the abhishekam to be performed. The prayer hall was filled with peace, divinity
and positive vibes during the chanting of Rudram and shiv bhajans. Bhandara / Prasadam was served to all the devotees. Please visit the temple’s website to support: You may also access this article through our web-site http://www.lokvani.com/ |
