Department: Discovery Operations - Communications
Position Title: Communications Intern
Job Description: Communications Intern will have the opportunity to work in a newly created Communications department at Wyeth Research. This department's overall mission is to enhance the internal and external modes of communication in order to foster great science and encourage collaboration.
Event Planning: Intern will have a significant role in planning a reception for an annual scientific meeting in Montreal Canada. Intern will work with Manager to assure that the events are well attended and well planned. Intern will be responsible for designing "assessment" measures that correlate dollars spent on such functions to benefits received from such a function. Assessment will be in the form of a PowerPoint presentation and will be presented to the Discovery Operations AVP. Intern will also assist with the planning and facilitation of internal teambuilding events.
Internal Communications/Graphic Design
Intern will assist in designing creative brochures, newsletters, meeting invitations, and presentations using QwarkXpress Program.
Requirements: 1st, 2nd or 3rd year in college. Excellent verbal/communication skills as well as creative design experience is required. Intern must know how to use QuarkXpress Version 6.0, PowerPoint, Word and Excel. Travel during the dates of July 17-23 may be required. Ideal candidate should have excellent presentation skills as this job involves hosting meeting events where intern will represent Wyeth Discovery Research.
