Like all fierce parents, when they got a life changing diagnosis for their son, they decided to fight and not give up. But they, didn't stop there! And that's what makes them visionaries. Dr. Susan Mathew and Dr. Mathew Varghese were devastated to see their son, Jyothis being diagnosed of Cerebral Palsy. In a place where there was no recognition for children with special needs, let alone the right schooling and treatment, they decided to set up a school to help him and that, was the birth of Deepti Special School and Rehabilitation Centre. Today Deepti, doesn't just help children like Jyothis with Cerebral Palsy but it also provides free schooling and therapies to 200+ specially abled children with Down Syndrome, Autism, Visual and other Mental challenges.
One of it's kind in Kerala, today, Deepti School is like a breath of fresh air in Adoor, Kerala. It offers special academic support and rehabilitation for these gifted children. They are equipped with some of the best teachers, therapists and staff who selflessly devote their time to nurture these budding children. Deepti also offers counselling and vocational training for parents of special needs children enabling them to be advocates for their children.
Being an unaided school, Deepti needs your support today to continue helping more children learn and adapt to leading a normal life. Deepti is looking for sponsorship and donations.
A fundraiser called Snehadeepam is being organised for the same.
