"Essence Of India", an outdoor, free, cultural event, is scheduled this year for Sat, 18th of August at NARA Park, Acton from 2pm-7.30pm. This year the event takes place in collaboration with several cultural organizations by presenting the dance, music and culture of the world, several hands-on art and craft activities along with ever popular kite making/flying.
The finale event is built on 6 very successful events during the last few years when over two thousand visitors participated in the event that celebrates the classical and folk performances, crafts and traditions of different regions of India and participating countries. The entrance to the event is FREE. This event has been the recipient of several grants, awards and citations from the Senate, the Gold star award from Massachusetts Cultural Council (after being nominated from Concord Cultural Council) and from VHP.
After our successful collaborations during past few years with China, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangla Desh, Sri Lanka, this year, in our series of building bridges between the communities, we are bringing several cultures of the world together. We will explore the similarities and uniqueness of the cultures through a series of performances and the interactive booths. Some of the participating countries are India, China, Cambodia, Thailand, Ireland, Russia, Africa etc.
