Saheli Expands Free Legal Services To The South Asian Community

Gouri Banerjee
07/05/2018

Saheli, Inc., is very excited to collaborate with two Law offices, adding free Family Law & Immigration Law services to its growing portfolio of services offered to the South Asian Community. Starting in July 2018, clients can make appointments to meet with the attorneys at Saheli’s Burlington office. You can consult with an attorney in immigration law (filing for immigration visas, appealing deportation orders, vacating orders for deportation, changing visa status procedures, etc.) and family law (restraining orders, vacate orders, divorce, child support, custody, visitation, etc.).

Services are free and strictly confidential and offer guidance on how to proceed with a civil or criminal case. Saheli does not offer representation in court or file legal appeals but can refer you to affordable legal help. In some cases, Saheli can assist you with filing your case.  To make an appointment for legal consultation, please call the Saheli helpline 1-866-472-4354 and leave a message. You can also write to info@saheliboston.org and a Saheli staff member will set up an appointment. All information is protected and held in strictest confidence.

Saheli’s immigration law advisors are the Law Offices of Attorney Trupti Patel Esq. and her Associate Attorneys Joanna Golding and Chiara St. Pierre. They practice in Boston and Burlington. Trupti Patel’s office has assisted for over a decade with Know Your Rights training, help to file VAWA and UVisa applications, provided guidance for change of visa status, preparation for legal depositions by clients in court, and help to prepare testimonials and affidavits for hearings.

Saheli’s family law advisor is Attorney Jerry (Gerald) Tutor. He is a member of the Access to Justice Fellows Program which Saheli became a member of in 2018. Jerry retired recently from Corrigan, Johnson and Tutor, PA.  He is a Member of the Massachusetts Bar since 1974, was admitted to United States District Court (District of Massachusetts) and First Circuit Court of Appeals and is a former member of the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys. He concentrates in civil litigation in all state and federal courts in the Eastern District of Massachusetts, with emphasis on personal injury and family law. He also offers training to Saheli’s Domestic Violence Advocates
