The female participation in undergraduate engineering has increased from 16.62 percent in 2006 to 22.27 percent in 2016. If we assume that female undergraduate engineering participation continues to grow at the same rate, we estimate that by the year 2028 women will make up 31.42% of all incoming first-time full time students entering an engineering degree program as freshmen
