Amrit Sabha Adult Day Healthcare Center (ADHC), Northborough, MA is one of a kind Adult Medical and Social Day Care Center located in the heart of the city. The inspiration behind this center came from a quote of Mahatma Gandhi, which states, ‘Where love is, there is God also.” That is why, the primary focus of this Center is to provide “seva” with respect to the participants so that they not only have the joy of community but also have an environment that is conducive to their mental nurture and physical enthusiasm. Their staff includes registered nurses, health professionals and social workers who speak Hindi, Gujarati, and Panjabi and assist participants in all their needs.

This is the largest South Asian ADHC in the square footage and number of members. It is fully licensed and ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) complaint. This center is run per Department of Public Health model. Realizing ‘boredom’ the number one issue faced by the Indian community, their well-educated and caring staff developed activities that foster an energetic and caring atmosphere and they strongly believe that positive health outcomes begin in the mind. The center provides the following activities/services for enjoyment of participants:

·       Hot healthy Indian vegetarian meals provided at breakfast and lunch with the guidance of nutritionist. Catered daily to ensure freshness

·       Free transportation to and from the center

·       Free Medical Services, free Social Services, and free Yoga/Exercise programs in dedicated rooms

·       Daily Arati, Bhajans, and prayers in the in-house temple, arrange religious lectures
