In Conversation With MIT India Co-Chairs

For the 2018 MIT India Conference, there are three Co-Chairs

●      Akshata Krishnamurthy -  PhD Candidate, MIT Aero-Astro

●      Nirali Savla - MBA Candidate, MIT Sloan School of Management

●      Emil Kuruvilla - MBA Candidate, MIT Sloan School of Management

 The team also consists of 9 Vice Presidents, who are students across various MIT graduate programs.

 What is the main focus of the conference?

 The theme of the conference is “Pioneering Innovation.” The conference will spotlight India’s biggest innovators and thought-leaders, and explore how they’re transforming the economic, social, and technological landscape of India.

 Can you highlight some of the speakers?

The 2018 Conference is very different than past ones. Instead of panels, it will all be keynote sessions that will feature top thought leaders.

 Ashish Chauhan, the CEO of BSE (formerly Bombay Stock Exchange) will talk about how he has made BSE the world’s fastest stock exchange. Ananth Narayanan, the CEO of Myntra & Jabong.com, will be talking about how his company is using artificial intelligence to transform’s India fashion and e-commerce industries. Vani Kola, the Founder & Managing Director of Kalaari Capital, will talk about India’s vibrant startup ecosystem, and what are the key challenges and opportunities in the future. Kirthiga Reddy, who was the first employee of Facebook India and was its first Managing Director, will discuss how women are playing a pivotal role in the technology sector.

 In addition, we will have Gururaj “Desh” Deshpande (Founder, Deshpande Foundation), Roshni Nadar Malhotra (CEO and Executive Director, HCL Corporation), Rekha M. Menon (Chairman and Senior Managing Director, Accenture India), and Guneet Monga (Bollywood Producer of The Lunchbox, Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai) highlighting innovation in their respective spheres.

 Who should attend and why?

 The conference is welcome to anyone who has an interest or is passionate about India. This is a great opportunity to hear from some of India’s top thought leaders, network with over 400 people, and to take part in an important discussion.

 One does not have to be an MIT student to attend.
