Dr. Manju Sheth of Lynnfield, a board-certified internist
focusing on women's health at Lahey Health, has been named to Harvard Pilgrim
Health Care’s Patient Care Action Committee (PCAC). The
committee is comprised of independent physicians from the community who help
advise Harvard Pilgrim on quality of care issues. “We welcome Dr. Sheth for her clinical expertise,†said
Harvard Pilgrim’s Chief Medical Officer Michael Sherman. “We will appreciate
her guidance in ensuring quality of care for all of our members, including
those who may be from under-represented populations.†Dr. Sheth has been the president of the Indian Medical
Association of New England. She is currently the co-chair of Indian Women Physicians
Forum. With India New England News, Dr.
Sheth co-founded the New England Health Expo, which is the largest South Asian
Health Expo in North America and features health and nutrition experts in
medical technologies, traditional medicine and holistic healthcare. In addition to her medical career, Dr. Sheth is committed to
empowerment of women. She has led many fund raisers for local charities
including Saheli, which provides support to South Asian domestic violence
victims in the Boston area. She has served on the fund-raising committee of
Akshaya Patra for many years and has been a member of the Board of Directors of
the Asian Task Force Against Domestic Violence. Dr. Sheth was a trustee of the Indian American Forum for Political
Education that helps increase political awareness among South Asians. Due to
her community work and advocacy, she has received numerous awards. She was
named INE Woman of the Year in 2011 and was featured as “150 Women of Influenceâ€
by the YWCA Boston. She is currently the
president of INE multimedia that provides a cultural platform for South Asians
in New England. “I have had the honor to lead IMANE, the oldest
Indian medical association in United States, as well as be a part of many
Indian organizations and a media company that serves the Indian
American community in New England,†said Sheth . “It is a privilege to be asked to serve on a special
committee at Harvard Pilgrim and be able to present the needs of a community
that is very close to my heart.†Dr. Sheth is married to a physician Dipak Sheth and has a
