Press Release 01/18/2018 IAGB Gears Up for Republic Day Mela 2018 Every year, the India Association of Greater Boston (IAGB) organizes an event to commemorate India’s Republic Day. Countdown has begun for the 2018 Republic Day (RD) Mela scheduled on January 27, 2018 at Burlington High School, Burlington, MA. The RD Mela is a unique day-long program featuring multiple competitions and a cultural performance segment. Competitions include: Kids: Elocution, Storytelling, Science Quiz, Geography Bee, Trivia Quiz. Essay Writing Adults: Skit Enactment Mixed Ages: Art, Chess, Carrom, Poetry Writing, Photography The competitions will run in parallel from 1 pm to 5 pm. The cultural performances will begin at 5 pm. IAGB has partnered with One World Cuisine to serve a variety of Indian food items. Also, similar to every year, attendees will be able to browse and purchase Indian and related merchandise and services from a host of vendors from across the New England Area in one place. IAGB RD Mela continues to draw a lot of attention across the community. To date, over 140 entries have been submitted for the various competitions and over 40 entries were received for the cultural segment. The RD Mela is a great opportunity for sponsors/advertisers/exhibitors to reach out to a larger Indian community.
