Smart Fifty, is an exciting new start-up competition in search of 50 smart ideas to transform India. Brandeis IBS is an International Partner in this effort and co-organizing the international round with TiE Boston, IIM Calcutta, and the Government of India. We would love your help in making this a success.

Any start-up created in the last 5 years in the areas of Agriculture, Health, Living, Learning, Money or Sustainability is eligible to apply. The solution does not have to be exclusively for India, but must be applicable to India.

Winners of the competition will benefit from a hand-held experience to enter the Indian market including mentorship, incubation at IIM Calcutta, help with establishing an entity in India, as well as the chance to compete for funding of approximately $1.5M USD. The winners will also benefit from great exposure, as the semi-finals and finals will be broadcast on NDTV in India.

The deadline for application is December 22^nd, semi-finals will at Brandeis in early February, and the finals will be in India in mid-March. We'd really appreciate your help in sharing the details of the competition with any relevant companies, and others that may be helpful in spreading the word.
