What a splendid day it was to spend at Hopkinton State Park for our NETS Summer Picnic 2017. Though with lot of fluctuations in the predicted weather, NETS decided to host it on the same day and mother nature saved the rain and we spared our rain date. We had a record breaking attendance of nearly 350 people for the picnic despite it being vacation season.
Event started with Cricket Championship Tournament at 8:00 a.m. Four teams played very aggressively and had a tough competition. Ram Sundaram from Agama Infotech Inc was our proud sponsor for the tournament and as well for the wonderful breakfast from Godavari Restaurant. Billerica Boys was the winner of NETS Cricket Championship 2017. Congratulations to the Team.
Our head start individual games started with Lemon & Spoon. Due to its popularity and good crowd, we had multiple groups and multiple rounds for kids and adults. We had so many preschool kids and grand parents who actively participated in Lemon & Spoon. They played the game little differently with their hands this time. Other races included Skipping, Bike Race, Running Race, Apple Cobbing etc.
Our first time Independence Day parade at the picnic was well appreciated. Kids team was divided to Orange, White, Blue and Green. We had a parade with kids holding Indian Flag, wearing NETS cap and singing Vande Mataram.
Members and non-members brought varieties of food for the event. Our On-Site Dosa was a great hit, liked by every one and NETS sponsored close to 500 different varieties dosa's for
all NETS people. Followed by Dosa was the prize distribution and New Committee Update. All ends well is the famous note every wants to say and this time too NETS says all ends well with the NETS Picnic.
