New England was blessed to receive an enlightening discourse from one of the super stars of the Spiritual World, Sister Shivani who hosts Awakening With Bramha Kumaris a show on Astha Channel watched by millions. The discourse was held at Ambrosia in Foxborough, MA and was hosted by the Bramhakumaris.
The event opened with a brief introduction to Bramha Kumaris (BK) with a video by Sister Mohini. This was followed by many BK practitioners discussing what Awakening meant to them. Dr. Kala Iyengar who runs the Peace Village in New York was also a featured speaker at the event. Elizabeth Padilla who runs the Anubhuthi center in San Francisco sang a beautiful song in her powerful voice that was a wonderful spiritual experience.
Before the introduction to Sister Shivani, Dr. Manju Sheth and Upendra Mishra of India New England News presented a Spiritual Leadership award to Sister Shivani. “I listen to your program everyday†said Dr. Sheth.
The grand offering of the evening was the enlightening discourse by Sister Shivani. Being July 4, Sister Shivani used independence as a theme for her discourse. “It is important not to neglect the self. Take time out to nurture your soul,†said Sister Shivani. In her discourse she emphasized the need to go from expectations to acceptance. “Only you can make yourself happy or unhappy. No one else can. Rajayoga teaches you ways to control the mind,†said Sister Shivani.
She had a unique knack to untangle any knotty problem and present a simple solution. Her words of wisdom energized everyone in the audience. “Take 60 secs after every hour to tell yourself I accept everyone as they are.â€
Someone brought up the issue of how aggravated she gets with President Trump and without anger how could she get into activism to stop him from implementing policies that they do not agree with? “If you feel someone has negative energies, immediately you need to send positive energies to them. If you do not do that, the negativity will rise. If you send positive energies to that individual you can impact that person and his positivity will surely rise. Anger is not good for any action,†said Sister Shivani.
A very impactful part of her talk was a discussion of her talk with couples who had lost young children. “There is no greater imaginable tragedy. But it is important to let the soul go so that the soul can continue the next life in peace.â€
She urged everyone to make July 4 , a day of true independence as people took control of their own life. It certainly was an unforgettable evening.
