INSIRATION III
Swami Viveakananda – Our Rishies and Yogies have laid down the paths. The major ones are four in number. Swami Vivekanand summarizes this beautiful concept:
"Each soul is potentially Divine. The goal is to manifest that Divinity within by controlling nature:- External and Internal. Do this either by Work or Worship or by Psychic Control or Philosophy - by one or more or all of these and BE FREE !" (Free from what? All the dualities of life and eventually from the cycle of Birth and Death. One cannot go away form dualities of life but can cultivate Equanimity towards them and be Free Emotionally. )
WORK represents, Karma Yoga, WORSHIP represents Bhakti Yoga, PSYCIC Control is represented by RAJA Yoga (Yoga of Meditation), and PHILOSOPHY represents Gyan Yoga.
These are the four major streams of yoga, and how they ultimately get united in the end even though Diversity is the nature of these methods. (In 1964, when I came to USA, I used to recite this everyday very early morning, as if I am VIVEKANANDA preaching to thousands of People… That transformed my personality from Meek, Nervous to Bold One …. Hopefully this beautiful message INSPIRES you to achieve Greater Heights for U! STRENGTH From Thus Spake Vivekananda
• STRENGTH, STRENGTH is what the Upanishads speak to me from every page. This is the one great thing to remember, it has been the one great lesson I have been taught in my life. STRENGTH, it says, STRENGTH, O man, be not w..e..a..k….!!!
• Everything that can weaken us as a race we have had for last thousand years. It seems as if during that period, the national life had this one end in view, viz., how to make us weaker and weaker, till we have become real earthworms crawling at the feet of everyone who dares to put his foot on us.
• Therefore, my friends, as one of your blood, as one that lives and dies with you, let me tell you that we want strength. And the Upanishads are the great mine of STRENGTH. Therein lies STRENGTH enough to invigorate the whole world; the whole world can be vivified, made strong, energized through them.
