Neela Gandhi 06/08/2017 On behalf of UIANE and IMANE, I would like to thank all those who attended the Health Fair on Sunday 6/4/17 from 11-3pm at the Sheraton Needham Hotel. Thanks to all the speakers who shared some wonderful tips on Pain Management with Ayurveda by Anusha Sehgal, Indian Diet with Sangeeta Pradhan filled in by Prasanna Nava, Obesity in Indians by Dr. Sajani Shah Kapasi, Mentor on the Road by Jagat Shah, Energetic boy-x workout by Shamila Khetarpal, Art of Living workshop with Dhanashree Ramachandran, and Heartfulness relaxation with Narendra Sharma. It was a great turn out for the health screenings including blood pressure, and Ask the Doctor led by IMANE community chair Dr. Chander Kapasi, Sameer Kapasi and his team. In addition, other activities included nurses at Beth Israel Needham carried out blood sugars, blood pressure and posture screenings, Vision Screening by students from NE School of Optometry supervised by Dr. Indra Mohindra, Dental Screenings led by Dr. Sonalika Rungta and Sangita Murali who worked non-stop and did not even take a break for lunch, teaching the students from Tufts University, and Smile Squad led by Simran Kaur, who entertained the kids with their costumes of tooth fairy, toothbrush and toothpaste and educated the community of better brushing and oral health. Activities for the children included bouncy house, face painting and balloon twisting by Nerilys Cruz, soccer activities, launchpad Norwood, Teddy can Heal, Brightminds with Jyoti Sharma. Special thanks to our vendors Tufts Health Plan, Harvard Pilgrim - Brenda Cole, Senior Whole Health, Ameriprise - Ra Mahadev, Costco, Starbucks, Wegmans, Wholefoods, Zevia who provided sugarless cold drinks, and delicious lunch by Walnut Grille in Newton Siva Kumar.
