Press Release 05/19/2017 GÄndharva Choir Coming Soon With its Magical Music "GÄndharva choir spells magic with classical act." – Hindustan Times The world-renowned GÄndharva Choir is coming soon to the Boston-area. This delightful Indian Music Choir will be presenting a concert on Saturday, June 24 at Regis College in Weston. It is a special opportunity for kids and all music-lovers to get inspired through a unique musical experience. The choir has performed wide and far including at Lincoln Center in New York, Kennedy Center in DC; and their performances have earned accolades in The Washington Post and The New York Times. The group consists of 32 trained classical musicians who will be presenting a range of classical, folk, inspirational and experimental compositions. Thereafter, they go on to perform in major US cities including at Kennedy Center in Washington DC. The GÄndharva Choir is led by Padmashri recipient, vocalist Pt. Madhup Mudgal who is a disciple of the genius Pt. Kumar Gandharva. “Madhup ji is known for his imaginative compositions that are grounded in classicism and also have the excitement of ‘rock and roll’,†commented Shekhar Shastri of Meru Education Foundation. “Very few artists have experimented with conducting choirs in Indian Classical music. When a group of well-trained musicians collaborate under the masterful direction of an experienced teacher, great conversations can emerge in a choral presentation. Cannot wait to hear the Gandharva choir,†wrote Shuchita Rao, the well-known Classical musician-teacher. “We are thrilled to be hosting GÄndharva Choir, it will be a treat especially for students and connoisseurs of music,†said Dr. Pradeep Shukla of Learnquest Academy.
