Namaskar! Every year Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America (VHPA) organizes Hindu Heritage Day (HHD) to celebrate our heritage, diversity, sanskrti, culture, traditions, arts and food. This year the HHD is going to be celebrated on Saturday, May 20th. The program starts at 3 PM.

Venue: Marlboro Middle School, 25 Union Street, Marlboro, MA

This is the 21st consecutive year that a team of volunteers from VHPA is organizing HHD for the residents of greater Boston area. The theme for this year’s HHD is “Bhaurangi” which conveys the beautiful message of a unified colorful India. Bahurangi literally means "that of many hues, having many variations."

The honorable Governor of Massachusetts as well as the Mayor of Marlboro have proclaimed May 20th, 2017 to be the Hindu Heritage Day. On this day, over 2,000 Hindu Americans come together to recognize HHD and celebrate our rich common heritage and culture.

The inauguration and lamp lighting ceremony will be conducted by: a) Padma Shri H.R. Nagandra b) David Frawley & Yogni Shambhavi Chopra c) Shri S.Y. Naik Minister of State Independent Charge (Ministry of AYUSH,  GOI). 

This year's Samskriti Saurabh Samman will be presented to Smt. Ranjani & Shri Anil Saigal for their philanthropic work and community involvement. And, Dr. Mahesh Mehta recipient of Pravasi Bharatiya Samman 2017 will be recognized for his community preservation efforts in the USA. 

Please join us to show your support and celebrate HHD on May 20. The format includes a "Mela" and a "Cultural Program" which includes performances by community children and reputed artists from leading dance and music schools of greater Boston area. Our main guest artist this year is Valentino Almeida, play back singer & best male voice from Boston area. Additionally, three young singers: I) Sachi Badola (participant & winner of many local competitions in Boston area), II) Janani Sharma (participant in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa competition in India), and III) Aayushi Saxena (participant/performer Indian Idol and Antakshri Little Stars) will perform.
