Bijoy Misra 03/23/2017 SAPNE invites all to poetry meet “Voice of the Mothers and the Youth” SAPNE group (South Asian Poets of New England) holds its second annual meet on the theme of “Voice of the Mothers and the Youth” on Saturday, March 25 at 2 PM in Lexington Public Library, 1874 Mass Ave, Lexington Ma. http://www.carylibrary.org/getting-here The event was postponed from February 12 because of weather. SAPNE group, spawned from the India Poetry Reading events at Harvard University meets quarterly to encourage creative composition and celebration of the voice of South Asia. SAPNE poets represent various cultures from South Asia and all languages spoken in India. The meeting dedicates itself to the cause of mothers and the youth. SAPNE welcomes special poems written for the mothers or on behalf of the mothers that might express the motherly sentiment of love, nurture, care and compassion. It also welcomes compositions by children expressing themselves on their view of the society, environment and the world around. Poems need not be original, and can be in any language. A short explanation in English would be helpful, but not necessary. Please contact me misra.bijoy@gmail.com or Chandu Shah chnandu420@gmail.com in case you wish to recite a poem. We will try to hear all voices. Please feel free to join to hear other voices to celebrate poetic composition and mothers in the world. SAPNE can be visited at http://southasiapoets.wixsite.com/sapne. It is merged with the nonprofit group India Discovery Center http://www.indiadiscoverycenter.org.
