SABA GB is pleased to announce exciting new outreach initiatives this year to benefit the South Asian community. Broadening SABA GB’s successful Know Your Rights! (KYR) program, KYR Forum will offer quarterly forums with expert legal panelists that will be open to the community-at-large regarding issues such as immigration, civil rights, and discrimination. SABA GB’s first KYR Forum event was a well-attended post-election panel that addressed community members’ concerns including immigration and backlash following the presidential election.
Additionally, SABA GB plans to offer KYR University, expanding the campuses for its award winning classes that provide South Asian community leaders with classes on topics including employment law, consumer protection, criminal law, the court system and legislative process, family law and domestic violence, immigration, Social Security and disability law, Medicaid, and elder care.
SABA GB and its new Board of Directors look forward to serving as a resource for the South Asian legal community as well as the community at large.
