Wholistic Health Alliance, an organization committed to bringing awareness about a variety of alternate health care techniques presented a seminar on Butyeko breathing technique by Ivan Pardo. The event was hosted at the Dwarakamai Sai Temple on Sunday, January 8th. A simple breathing technique, it has powerful benefits.
Ivan Pardo, a Butyeko practitioner presented the breathing technique developed by Dr. Butyeko in Russia. The clients who have used the technique rave about the impact it has had particularly on Asthma and sleep disorders.
Dr. Buteyko was a Ukrainian doctor who lived from 1923 to 2003. Sometime in the 1950s he came up with what is now called the Buteyko method. The Buteyko method is a way of retraining how you breathe. The Buteyko method is made up of a number of breathing exercises and techniques. Many of them emphasize breathing through your nose as opposed to your mouth. This is one of the key concepts of the Buteyko method.
Also, many of the exercises are made up of controlled pauses in your breathing. By practicing these controlled pauses the idea is to get your body used to breathing less. These exercises also are supposed to train your body not to panic when you stop breathing for a moment or two. In addition to those benefits, using this method is supposed to help you relax.
“Dr. Butyeko believed that over use of oxygen is the cause of many health problems. At the core of his technique is the need to slow down the breath. Less breaths make you live longer. The target in this breathing technique is to bring your normal breath down to 4 to 6 breaths per minute as opposed to 10 to 12” said Dr. Pardo.
The event featured several Butyeko practitioners who shared remarkable stories on how Butyeko allows them to live drug free.
