Vasanta Vani: Spring Symphony The Hindu Temple of New Hampshire was filled with the fragrance of music last weekend, which marked the official arrival of the spring season. The Temple along with its cultural school Bharati Vidyashram hosted a wonderful Carnatic vocal music concert by Vidwan Sri Delhi P. Sunder Rajan, accompanied on the violin by Smt. Smitha Krishnan, and on the mridangam by Sri Mahalingam Santhanakrishnan.[more]
Yesteryear Melodies Regale Bollywood Music Lovers In Boston by Shuchita Rao The Collins Center for Performing Arts, Andover was packed with expectant Bollywood music lovers on the evening of April 22. Those in pursuit of music would readily agree that it takes nearly a decade for one to gain mastery over the genre they are training for. There is a lot of toil and hard work that must go in before one emerges as a complete musician, which continues for years thereafter to retain, preserve, polish and embellish what has been acquired. Double Header Concerts By Renowned Artists From India At The Chinmaya Mission, Boston The double header event held at the Chinmaya Maruti Auditorium featured world renowned Carnatic music artists Ranjani and Gayatri on April 29th and Sangeetha Kalanidhi Sanjay Subrahmanyan on April 30th. Both concerts were sold out days ahead of the program. Music fans from California, Indiana, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Maine and New Hampshire attended the concerts along with the Boston faithful.[more]

Informative Dhrupad Workshop By Gundecha Brothers by Shuchita Rao On the morning of June 4th, two rooms full of young children and adults eagerly awaited the arrival of the Dhrupad singing brother duo at Learnquest Academy in Waltham, MA. 25 children in the age group of 5 and 13 had learned and practised Dhrupad compositions over several months to sing in front of the Dhrupad masters Padmashri Umakant and Ramakant Gundecha. For a change, the Gundecha brothers visited Boston not to perform, but to listen to children singing Dhrupad and to conduct an educational workshop for children and adults.[more]
A Jugalbandhi For Ekal Vidyalaya Organized By Abhyaas School Of Music by Jayashree Rajamani On a warm and breezy afternoon of June 18th, the audience was swathed in divine music coming from the very soul of the musicians that came together to benefit Ekal Vidyalaya. The musical ensemble comprised of Boston based musicians with special musical guests from New Delhi, India! Husband and wife duo Raghuraman Govindarajan (Carnatic flute) and Sudha Raghuraman (vocal) were featured artistes joining artistic excellence with Aparna Balaji (vocal), K.V.S. Vinay (Carnatic violin), Mahalingam Santhanakrishnan (mridangam) and Amit Kavthekar (Tabla) to create a fabulous blend of Carnatic and Hindustani music.[more]
