Kavya Mallanna who has been tutoring Chess in New England region and organizing Chess matches has been instrumental in introducing many youngsters to rated Chess competitions.

Tournaments help players to understand the game temperament and once they get over the fear of losing, they start enjoying the beauty of Chess and it becomes fun. Regardless of how much training one goes through, playing in serious matches will give a different dimension; and playing with a clock under time pressure  tests the actual strength of a player. Tournament exposure is the key, Kavya added.

Participants Divig Kunaparaju, Mihir Shyam and Ameya Kharade volunteered along with  Celestial Minds team members Siri Venepalle, Kishore Tiruveedhula, Praharshitha Gnaneshwar, Prasanna Nagabhushan, Kiran.CJ who were the key supporters in organizing the annual event.
