Tamil Makkal Mandram- USA celebrated their very first year Diwali Grand Event – Thalai Deepavali Thiruvizha on October 16th, 2016. Appropriate to the name given for the event, it was celebrated with pomp and grandeur just like the newlyweds celebrate their Thalai Deepavali.

The entrance was adorned by a magnificent Ganesha, Vazhai Kannu(Banana Tree) Colorful Rangoli- Diya Kolam and Nila vilaku- It was beautifully decorated to create the right first impression.

Vazhai Ilai Virudhu- The traditional way of serving authentic South Indian Food was one of the Top attractions in the event. Who would not love to eat the flavors of home Country served in a traditional way in a foreign land? It was very thoughtful idea. It was very well received and enjoyed by attendees of all age group.

Friendly faces, received all the guests and a Dedicated Photo Booth captured all pretty faces with bright and colorful outfits. Everybody was very well dressed and was happy to celebrate Deepavali with friends and family.

People were indulging in Diwali shopping. You could see Silk saree Vendor stalls, Ethnic jewelry and fashion clothing stalls to satisfy the fashionista in everybody.

The entire team of Tamil Makkal Mandram, with the board Members and committee had put in a lot of efforts to give us all such a quality vent. All their hard work truly showed in the way they had organized the event.

The first segment was the extravagant Music Event, which was exceptional. The Stage lighting, Theatrical Haze and fog effects and the acoustics transported all of us to a magical atmosphere. Vijay TV super singers- Saisharan(playback Singer),Usha Raj, Arvind Mukundan, Sowmya and Vsharp band from New Jersey gave us all an enthralling performance. Vharp Band (Vasanth Vaseegaran on keyboard, Sai Ravishankar on Flute, Karthik Ramasubramanian on Drums, NJ Singer Krishna and on Guitar, Vikram were true professionals and extremely talented.

The second segment was Dance performance by Jodi number 1 stars, Anandi and Amudhavanan. Anandi  has presented an amazing Belly dancing! TMM encouraged Local singer and Local trained dancers to participate along with the Vijay TV stars. There was also a comedy segment to make the audience have a hearty laughter.

TMM has released a very first Tamil online magazine “TamilOsai” which had Tamil content contributed by Tamil kids and adults living in and around New England. Three Chief guests were honored at the event and they released the Magazine. Mr. Varathrajan Thirunaukkarasarsu Grandson of Tamil scholar’s Mu. Varadarajanar (MU.VA), Mr.Vallikannan Maruthappan, President, Tamilnadu Community Center, Canada. Mrs.Meera Nagarajan, CEO of KM Matrimony.

Karthikeyan Ramu, President of Tamil Makkal Mandram, Chandru Subramanian, Vice president and Sridevi Karthikeyan-Board member did an amazing Compering and walked us through the different components and agenda of the events.

Lastly Thali Deepvali ku Amma Veetukuu pona( As though we went back home) feeling came when a friendly member of TMM handed in Krishna sweets brand Savories in each and every person that attended the event.
