09/08/2016 American India Foundation welcomes you to Vision Forward: A discussion on Empowering the Visually Impaired in India India shoulders the largest burden of global blindness- an estimated 15 million visually impaired people live in India. In addition, there are more than 120 million people with low vision conditions that cannot be corrected, cured, or treated. What are the challenges facing these people while they struggle to achieve an independent and dignified life for themselves? What are the opportunities we can create for them to develop their talents/skill, which will rightfully empower them as a valuable and contributing member of the society?
