NESSP Celebrated Guru Pournima And Concluded The Palkhi Utsav 2016

NESSP celebrated Guru poornima on July 19th by performing Baba Abhishekam and Samuhik SaiVrat katha. Forty Plus families had participated in SaiVrat katha and performed the pooja with devotion and shraddha under the guidance of priest. Temple was thronged by devotees in the evening and all performed dhoop aarti and took blessings of Baba. Bhajans were rendered to sing the glory of lord and followed by Special Bhandara.

On the occasion of Guru Poornima, Guru Charitra Parayan (Reading of the scared book) was conducted on July 23rd, Saturday, followed by Sai Homam, Palkhi Utsav conclusion and Bhandara.

The longest festival that NESSP celebrates is the SAI PALKHI UTSAV. The Palkhi procession started on May 21st for 8 weeks through July 17th. This year Palkhi visited around 190 devotee homes across Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine, New Hampshire. During this festival around 40 volunteer families including kids have participated in the procession all the 8 weekends with lot of zeal and devotion and spent their quality time to run the entire procession efficiently. The host families lovingly served refreshments/ Breakfast/Lunch and dinner for all those who visited their houses during the procession. At each house, the atmosphere was charged with divine adoration, as the volunteers and devotees sang aloud the glory of the God and Sadguru.

NESSP is an independent local organization that has been serving the devotee needs for last nine years. NESSP is run by a dedicated team of volunteers. In addition to temple related activities, NESSP has an active Charitable and Philanthropy charter. The different charitable activities NESSP has undertaken in the past are: Disaster Relief, Annadaan (food donation) to the homeless, Winter Clothes drive – Collection and distribution of warm winter clothes to the needy, Blood donation drives, Team walks and backpack drives. NESSP Conducts monthly once Free health camps, Dental camps, and weekly free Yoga sessions. For kids, NESSP Conducts chess classes, Annual Academic competitions. 

NESSP is building a Permanent Sai Temple at Groton-MA and planning to Inaugurate by end of this year. The construction is in full speed and is looking for contributions from the community for the completion of Phase I.
