Team Chilvaxx From TiE-Boston Wins Third Prize At The TYE Global Finals

Team Chilvaxx, consisting of Isha Mayor, Abhijeet Sambangi, Nikita Murli, Srija Nagireddy, Manasi Danke and Trisha Ballakur, from TiE Boston won the third prize at the TYE Global Finals which this year was held June 25 through June 26 in Portland, OR.
The TYE Program, an annual event dating back to 2010, is an initiative of TiE Global, seeking to inspire, challenge and empower students to become the next generation of entrepreneurs.
The program coaches high school students in 20 cities worldwide with the TYE curriculum, learning about entrepreneurship, ideation and business basics, over the course of the school year. It culminates with a local business competition, and the winning team is then invited to compete at the TYE Global Finals.
Team Focus Four, comprised of Michael Huang, Jonathan Lu, Avi Ganti and Jim Zhan, won the top overall spot. Team eMDream, led by Aveek Ganguly, Kunal Bhattacharjee, Muhammad Shahir Rahman, Arnob Das, Aditya Jain, Aneesh Mysore, Deepto Mizan and Will Fritz, came in second.
Focus Four came from the TiE South Coast chapter, earning $4,000 for receiving top honors. The team produces all-natural fruit-flavored chews which provide mental focus and energy for up to four hours. Their goal is to keep students away from unsafe performance-enhancing drugs, improve productivity and well-being.
Out of TiE Oregon was the second-place finishing eMDream, which earned $2,000 for being the runner-up which chose to make a simple, at-home test for detecting signs of heart disease using only a saliva sample.
Chilvaxx, from the TiE Boston chapter, earned a $1,000 cash prize for their third-place finish. The team strives to save lives by optimizing delivery of vaccines to rural areas.. Their aim is to prevent disabilities and deaths due to lack of vaccines for preventable diseases, even in remote areas, it added.
Outside of the top three teams, other teams were awarded for various "best of" categories, earning a $1,000 cash prize each.
Team Validrugs, out of the TiE Detroit chapter, was named Best Customer Validation. TiE Rajasthan's Street Yum was named Best Execution. Swab, of TiE Vancouver, was named Best Business Model. TiE Seattle team Kare and TiE Atlanta's REGEN were named Best Teamwork. And TiE Washington, D.C., team Spry earned $500 for Best Elevator Pitch.
